YveYANG is pleased to present its debut at FOCUS Art Fair 2026. The gallery brings together three artists whose works move quietly between body, room, and memory.

Some things cannot be contained.

The body is first its own dwelling.

Chuang renders closely cropped figures and mermaid-like forms in pastel and oil. Surfaces are fragile, continually revised, holding states of longing and scars. Images oscillate between clarity and dissolution, as if attention alone sustains their coherence.

Then comes the imagined room.

Chen draws doors, half-open, half-closed. Boxes that cannot be read as packed or unpacked. Migratory
birds suspended mid-flight. Paper remains light, shadows faint. These spaces belong neither to past nor
future, but hover between memory and anticipation. A container that might exist.

Finally, the town in the real world.

Dai photographs in Locke—a place built by Chinese immigrants, now owned mostly by white proprietors
who narrate its history to tourists. The body stands there, observed, interpreted, surrounded by others’
accounts. Imagined belonging meets rewritten space. Dislocation produces pain. A container where one
cannot settle.

From body, to room, to town.
From aligning, to suspending, to dislocating.
The container never seals.
Hands keep repairing,
doors remain half-open,
bodies still hold their ground.
